Kat Lee-Ryan has had a long and varied career in music. She has just released her 9th album, ’Fur Coat No Underwear’ on her own label, Priestess Records, with her band The Fabulous Red Diesel. She sells music globally, and locally, and has made her name as a singer songwriter to be reckoned with.
As a young soloist in London, Kat supported Jeff Buckley, worked with Andy Coughlan from The Tubeway Army , and Tony Kylie from the Blow Monkeys.
As frontwoman of ‘Naked Angel’ she and her drummer/husband Wil played at Wembley Conference Centre, Glastonbury, The Jazz Café in Camden and Berlin, and The Mean Fiddler, as well as performing alongside artists like Anastasia, Angie Brown and Howard Jones at the Orange in Kensington.
On moving to Hastings in 2004, The Fabulous Red Diesel was born. They have released 4 albums, the second produced by the legendary Phil Brown, who recorded the likes of Bob Marley, Led Zepellin, Tears for Fears and David Grey. Kat also writes and performs in Katdog (afro celtic), The Kat Lee-Ryan Trio (original jazz), and as a soloist, accompanying her voice on piano, her first instrument, studied at the City of Leeds College of Music.
